Alexa Chung and Alexander Skarsgård are said to be really happy.

The stylish Brit was first linked to True Blood actor Alexander in February, after the pair were spotted out and about together twice in one week.

Neither have flaunted the romance, but the pair looked loved up in New York last month when they were seen holding hands. And sources say things couldn't be going better.

"They're really happy. Alexa is playing it so cool, she is very coy about it all because she doesn't want it to go wrong," a source told British magazine Grazia.

The Big Apple is the city of love for Alexander and Alexa, and in June they seemed to confirm their relationship status by publically kissing during a trip to Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.

A source at the time told how things were moving forward.

“It is serious and has really heated up," a source told Us Weekly, while another added: "It's a fun relationship for both of them. She's just about as busy as he is and it's not really feasible [for them] to become a more committed couple, but the hang outs are great."

Alexa is no stranger to high-profile relationships, dating Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner for four years, up until 2011. She was also linked to Chris Martin after his split from Gwyneth Paltrow.

However the 31-year-old doesn't think she has what it takes to be perfect girlfriend material.

"I don't like being told what to do. And I don't want to be penned in. I don't want to feel I have to be anywhere... I am quite restless. It makes me a nightmare to date, I think," she previously said.

Alexander, 38, has previously dated Kate Bosworth and been linked to Katie Holmes.
