Alexander Skarsgård: I'll read Fifty Shades book

Alexander Skarsgård

Alexander Skarsgård has promised to read Fifty Shades of Grey after being linked to the movie.

Alexander rose to fame playing vampire Eric Northman in hit TV series True Blood. He is among the names tipped to play domineering businessman Christian Grey in a big screen adaption of the blockbuster novels. Alexander insists he has not been cast in the movie, which follows an innocent graduate who falls for a mysterious millionaire with a dark secret. However, he has admitted he is curious about the hype surrounding the erotic tomes.

"I gotta read that book," Alexander said at Comic-Con.

During the True Blood press conference, Joe Manganiello showed off his best stripper moves. The hunk stars in new movie Magic Mike and was eager to demonstrate what he had learned from playing a male stripper.

Some of his True Blood co-stars were quick to join him, prompting Anna Paquin to cry out, "I love my job!"

Anna plays Sookie in the sexy vampire drama series. She is married to her co-star Stephen Moyer and the pair are currently expecting their first child.

She believes that True Blood offers a clever twist on the traditional storylines that usually appear on the small screen.

"True Blood follows established story telling patterns but the expectations of the viewers are manipulated in a clever way," she told Germany's Spiegel.de.

Stephen agreed with Anna, claiming the show reflects the issues affecting people today.

"I like that the show has an underlying political dynamic, which is how creator Alan Ball holds a mirror up to society", he explained.
