Amanda Bynes ‘doing better’

Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes reportedly has a "better grasp on herself" lately.

The 27-year-old star has hit headlines with her erratic behaviour, sparking fears for her mental health.

As well as landing in trouble with the law after being caught driving with a suspended licence in September, the actress has shaved off her hair and posted bizarre photos of herself online.

Amanda has kept a low-profile more recently, with an insider saying it's because she's finally starting to think more clearly.

“Amanda’s been doing a lot better lately,” an insider told Radar Online. “She’s always been a sweet, down to Earth girl, but just lost herself for a while. She’s slowly coming back to us.

“I see more of the old Amanda in her. She’s not acting quite so odd. She seems to have a better grasp on herself lately and we all hope it sticks.”

After winning unfavourable headlines since her series of erratic driving incidents in 2012, Amanda subsequently moved to New York to pursue a career as a fashion designer.

In February reports surfaced she was forced to move out of her apartment after receiving an eviction threat.

An insider revealed she was considered to be a “building nuisance” and neighbours were complaining about marijuana smoke wafting from her apartment “morning, noon and night”.

Amanda then used her Twitter page to share bizarre musings with her followers, which added to her family's concern.

Last month, a source said that although those closest to her were doing everything they could to reach out to her, Amanda was refusing to accept their assistance.

“She’s completely resisting any help that her family wants to give her,” the source said at the time.
