Amanda Bynes 'wants boyfriend'

Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes' parents are reportedly trying to find her a boyfriend through her friends.

The 27-year-old actress had a turbulent 2013, which saw her hospitalised in July after she was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold. She later entered rehab and completed her stint in December.

Now she is getting into a new routine, she is thought to be interested in striking up a relationship. However, her parents Rick and Lynn Bynes are said to be defensive of their daughter and are trying to find the right male suitor for her.

"Amanda is in a state where someone could come in and take advantage of her, so her parents are trying to find dates through friends," a source explained to National Enquirer magazine.

Amanda is now getting her life back on track, enrolling in a fashion school and attending regular therapy sessions.

While she is reportedly keen to find herself a new man, Rick and Lynn insist on her future boyfriend having certain qualities. They consist of a stable job, a clean criminal record and going through random drug tests before embarking on a relationship.

"Her parents are very protective. They won't let Amanda date just anyone - bad boy types need not apply!" the source added.

Along with improving her education and state of mind, Amanda has been spotted working out regularly. She is living with her parents in Thousand Oaks and her lawyer Gerald Shargel previously showed hope she would make a full recovery.

"This is an important step in her rehabilitation," the lawyer stated. "I am optimistic about her future and pleased with the result."
