Amanda Seyfried proud of Mean Girls

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried considers Mean Girls to be her best work.

The actress played ditzy Karen Smith in the 2004 movie, which was about a girl who tries to settle into a new school by befriending the cool clique. It also starred Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams and Amanda remains fiercely proud of the release.

"I've just worked a long time. I've gotten a lot of cool opportunities here and there and I've made some good choices with the help of my amazing team. I was with them since I was 16. It all feels right; it feels good. I still look back at Mean Girls as my best work," she told indiewire.com.

"I was so innocent. I was so green. I look back and I'm like, 'Really, I thought I was doing a terrible job.'"

The 27-year-old is pleased her career has built up slowly. Although she has appeared in major movies such as the Oscar-nominated Les Misérables, she doesn't feel like a Hollywood star yet. It means fame doesn't really affect her, something she is thankful for.

"I'm really lucky because I got to experience each thing as it came, as opposed to being bombarded with all this attention. It's always been slow. People say, 'Oh, breakout star overnight,' to these actors of my generation. It must be hard to get all that attention and know what's real at the end of the day," she mused.

Amanda portrays porn star Linda Lovelace in her new release Lovelace. Linda became the world's first erotic superstar after appearing in 1972's Deep Throat, but was abused during her life and eventually became a spokeswoman for the anti-pornography movement.

The actress is pleased Lovelace doesn't glamorise sex, but equally didn't find the intimate scenes difficult to shoot.

"I don't know why I'm comfortable. Nudity: whatever! Sex: we all do it," she said. "There's a time and a place to be naked. There's no part in this movie that makes me think, 'Oh, wow, she's naked.' She's a porn star!"
