Former The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs is set to compete for this year's (16) Celebrity Masterchef crown, but has some tough competition from Donna Air and Sinitta among others.

Amy Childs has been announced as one of the contestants on this year's Celebrity Masterchef.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star will battle it out against a host of stars when the 11th series of the cooking show begins next month (June16).

It remains to be seen how Amy does on the show as she previously appeared on ITV programme Who's Doing The Dishes? and admitted that she's not a natural in the kitchen, citing ice cream and jelly among her best creations.

However, she revealed her excitement over appearing on the BBC competition, writing on Instagram on Tuesday morning (17May16): "Yes guys it's true... So excited to finally tell you that il be in this years celebrity MasterChef !!!!"

She then shared a backstage snap of the set, writing: "So excited to be in this years celebrity MasterChef !!"

Former Shameless actress Tina Malone, who famously lost 11 stone after having a gastric band fitted, will also try her luck in the kitchen, while Blue heartthrob Simon Webbe and ex Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah will display their culinary skills.

Boxer Audley Harrison, paralympic swimmer Liz Johnson, ex rugby world cup winner Neil Back, YouTube star Marcus Butler, priest and popstar Richard Coles, journalist Louise Minchin, magician and actor Alexis Conran, presenter Cherry Healey, Cannon and Ball star Tommy Cannon and Bargain Hunt expert David Harper complete this year's batch of hopefuls.

It's going to be a tough competition this year, with the contestants tasked with cooking a five-course dinner for the Chelsea Pensioners in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday among their challenges.

Last year's series was won by former Pussycat Dolls star Kimberley Wyatt.
