Amy Schumer: I am Sandwich Master
Amy Schumer has confessed she doesn’t “get laid” as often as her character does in new comedy Trainwreck.
The 34-year-old comedienne attended the premiere of her new movie Trainwreck Tuesday night.
Behind the scenes Amy took it upon herself to feed cast and crew while they filmed the comedy.
“I did craft services, and that was the hardest,” she joked to Variety. “I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for everyone and that was a real challenge.”
All quips aside, Amy can’t believe how amazing it is to be promoting her new film, which was directed by Judd Apatow and is due for release in American theatres on July 17.
Trainwreck is Amy’s first major starring vehicle and celebrating the impending debut is a big deal for her, as she has been working hard to rise in the comedy circuit for over a decade.
“This is the best night of my life,” she gushed on the red carpet prior to the film screening. “To be here tonight and to share the movie with people is something I will never forget. I’m so proud of this movie. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get this movie made, and it all paid off. It turned out to be everything that I hoped it would be thanks to Judd Apatow, the cast and everybody who worked on the film. I’m so f***ing happy!”
Amy also wrote the script for Trainwreck.
But even though the movie is based on her life experiences, there are a few things in the feature that are not biographical.
“I’m not a big trainwreck like my character, but close,” Amy said. “I don’t get laid as much as she does and don’t drink as much. Other than that, everything else in the movie is real.”
