Anderson completes marathon

Pamela Anderson completed the New York City Marathon in a reported five hours, 41 minutes and three seconds.

The 46-year-old actress ran the 26.2-mile race through the city's five boroughs in five hours, 41 minutes and three seconds, according to USA Today.

Not long after, she posted a picture on Twitter of herself in serious recovery mode.

The photo shows Pam lifelessly clutching a remote control as she lies down on a bed in a nightgown with her name tag over her face and large packs of ice on her knees and hip.

The star also has a book on her lap, which she doesn't appear to have the energy to open.

"Ouch!" she tweeted.

Pam ran the marathon with her brother Gerry, and also took to the micro-blog to thank him for his support during the gruelling run.

"So proud of my brother Gerry. Thank G. For running next to me today- love you lots," she wrote.

The actress took on the challenge as part of a team built to support Sean Penn's J/P Haitian Relief Organization.

Sean founded the non-profit to help with relief efforts after the country endured a devastating earthquake in 2010.

Reports suggest Pam helped to raise almost $76,000 for the organisation.

In an auction on Charity Buzz posted last month, the actress offered the chance to join her on a two-mile training run in Central Park in a bid to help raise funds for the NPO.

"I've been so moved by the work J/P HRO has done," she wrote on the Charity Buzz page.

"Sean Penn and his dedicated team have done an amazing job leading this organisation and I'm happy to lend my support. I'm proud to be a part of team J/P HRO and excited to run alongside fellow supporters and these inspiring Haitian athletes."

The organisation also held a special afterparty Sunday evening.
