Anderson: I pick on Dornan

Gillian Anderson really enjoys the banter she has with her co-star in The Fall.

The 46-year-old stars alongside the Northern Irish actor in hit show The Fall. Between series, Jamie’s star has risen thanks to his highly anticipated role in 50 Shades of Grey, and Gillian finds it amusing how much she is now asked about him.

“Well, it's funny because I pick on him a lot,” she laughed to E! News. “He's very easy to make fun of and he takes the p**s out of himself and he is very free at taking the p**s out of everybody else. So it's quite a joy to be able to reciprocate, especially on that subject matter. We have a lot of fun with it.”

As well as enjoying working with the 32-year-old, Gillian loves getting under the skin of her character, Stella Gibson. For the American actress, she relishes the challenge to work on a role that is so complex.

“She's one of my favourite characters ever and I was dying to get back into her and it again. It's one of my favourite things I've ever worked on and it's a great environment, great set, and a great crew,” she said. “She's certainly like no other character I've played before and certainly none that I've seen or read before. She's still a mystery to me. I feel like I know more about her than the audience knows and yet there is something so elusive and confounding about her.”

Gillian has had a hugely successful career on the small screen, most notably in The X-Files. While there has been two film versions, there’s talk of a third and a series reboot, not that she would give much away.

“I need to wrap my brain around what that would entail,” she said. “I live in London. I've got three kids, it's not a small proposition and it would take a lot longer to shoot than a movie would. I need to think about that.
