Andrea McLean's breast cancer scare

Loose Women presenter Andrea McLean has revealed that she went through a breast cancer scare.

The 44-year-old TV star told the Daily Mirror she felt lucky that a lump she found on her breast had turned out to be nothing to worry about.

She found the lump while in the shower and only told one friend, who insisted Andrea went to see her doctor.

Andrea said: "At first I thought it was something to do with my glands. The worrying thing was that it grew quite quickly - from being the size of a pea to the size of a quail's egg. That all happened within weeks.

"I was scared but I just wanted to know so I could deal with it. "

A mammogram showed the lump was just fibrous tissue and Andrea added: "I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones."

Andrea is now an ambassador for Breast Cancer Care and is promoting their Pink Fridays fundraising campaign.

She was seen on holiday with a mystery man in August and commented: "I'm very happy. But that's all I'm going to say."
