Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron are thought to be hoping to work together.

Angelina is married to Brad Pitt while Charlie is dating Sean Penn, with speculation they are engaged. The two guys are good pals and like hanging out, which has thrown their partners together too.

“The guys have been tight for years, and ever since Sean and Charlize became serious they’ve been spending a lot of time together as a foursome,” an insider told the American edition of OK! magazine.

“The girls realised they have a very similar outlook on life and quickly bonded over everything from their adopted children to their prospective Hollywood projects.”

Angelina and Brad are parents to six children, three of whom they have adopted. Charlize is mother to Jackson, who she confirmed she’d adopted in 2012.

It seems the two women are getting along so well their relationship might even transfer to the big screen. Captain Marvel is an upcoming superhero movie which focuses on women, and it’s thought both the ladies are desperate to be involved.

“Marvel has been courting Angie to direct the project, and Charlize is a clear fan favourite for the starring role,” the insider said. “If Charlize were to get the part, Angie would almost certainly sign on to work with her new pal.”

This friendship is a marked change for Angelina, 39, who’s previously admitted she finds it hard to bond with ladies. In 2011 she confessed to not having many female friends to talk to, especially as she is so caught up in looking after her children.

“I don't really have girlfriends in movies, if you've noticed,” she told Marie Claire at the time.

“Well, I have a few girlfriends, I just... I stay at home a lot. I'm just not very social. I don't do a lot with them, and I'm very homebound.

“I'll talk to my family. I talk to Brad... But I don't know, I don't have a lot of friends I talk to. He is really the only person I talk to.”
