Angelina Jolie riled by Oscars leg taunts

Angelina Jolie was reportedly "steamed" when people joked about her exaggerated leg pose at the Oscars.

The American star wore a black velvet Atelier Versace gown to Sunday night's ceremony. It boasted a thigh-high split up the right hand side, and Angelina posed on the red carpet seemingly doing her best to thrust out her leg for photographers.

The star continued to show off her pale and toned limb throughout the ceremony. She presented the best adapted screenplay prize and sexily posed with her leg on display, and her hand on her hip, while on the stage. Her stance drew whoops from the audience, but the winners of the prize were less impressed. The Descendants' Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash picked up the prize, with Jim openly poking fun at the actress by mimicking her poses.

"Who is that guy?" Chicago Sun-Times claims Angelina said backstage.

A source added: "She was still pretty steamed but seemed to calm down quickly."

Angelina's poses quickly becoming a talking point on social networking websites on Sunday night.

Soon after she appeared on the red carpet with her partner Brad Pitt, many started mocking her seemingly exaggerated stances. The phrase "Angelina's right leg" was soon trending on Twitter, with some users teasing the star about how keen she was to show off her limb.

Before long someone had even set up a Twitter account called AngiesRightLeg.

"I'm a leg, get a load of me!!" someone wrote on the account.

"You have to admit I'm one hell of a leg Left leg and I talked - everything's cool. Next Oscars, she gets the slit."

Jim Rash wasn't the only star to query Angelina's outfit choice. Fashion Police host Joan Rivers has slammed the decision, claiming it's only made people see how normal the actress is.

"Angelina Jolie looked like a fool the way she posed," the comic said. "She took herself right out of that super star category because you now realise she stands in front of a mirror to figure out [what she looks like]."
