Angelina: Kids and work should be separate
Angelina Jolie finds it "hard" to spend time away from her children when she's working.
The engaged couple raise six kids together, Maddox, 12, ten-year-old Pax, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and five-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
In the upcoming Disney movie Maleficent, in which Angelina plays the evil title Queen, little Vivienne plays a young Princess Aurora.
While she enjoyed having her daughter on set with her the 38-year-old actress tries to avoid her youngsters being around their parents in character.
"Vivienne had so much fun being on set. It gets harder for me to spend any length of time away from the kids and that's why I enjoyed having Vivienne and Knox there," she explained to British magazine Closer.
"But Brad and I don't want to make a habit of having our children work on our films, we're trying to balance our lives so that we can raise them without their parents' strange profession getting in the way of them leaving normal lives."
Last year Angelina made the brave decision to have a double mastectomy in order to prevent the breast and ovarian cancer gene BRCA1 spreading. She credits Brad for looking after her through the difficult time and is confident the life-changing surgery benefited their family's future.
"I am fortunate to have a partner who is loving and supportive. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has," she added.
"Brad and I want our children to study hard and have as normal a life as we can give them. There's a sense of purpose to your life when you're raising children and feeling so much love and joy in being around them. It's changed me in so many ways."
