Anna Faris and husband prank baby son

Anna Faris and her husband Chris Pratt "played a prank" on their baby son by giving him a piece of lemon.

The comedy star and her Zero Dark Thirty actor spouse thought it would be funny to leave a sour taste in their young son's mouth recently. Chris made the confession as he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres' US talk show on Tuesday after showing a video of baby Jack squirming around.

"It's his first fruit and it's his first prank we ever played on him because it's a lemon…," the actor laughed.

As Ellen looked at the footage of five-month-old Jack, she said: "He doesn't know if he likes it or not."

"He doesn't know too much," Chris replied with a smile.

The 33-year-old star is thoroughly enjoying fatherhood. He loves watching his son learn new things every day and says it has made him appreciate the simple things in life.

"It's been really amazing. You know Anna and I are both… lead very fortunate lives… We've been able to do really cool things. Meet neat people and go cool places... There's not that much left that really excites you. Where you're like, 'Wow I can't believe that,'" Chris explained. "And to see a baby get that excited by everything because everything is a first. Everything is a brand new experience. The first time they realise that the sound they're hearing is the thing that they're seeing. An experience for them and I'm reliving all the firsts all over again. The first time he recognises the first laugh or me. Or the first taste of something sweet…"
