Pitch perfect star Anna Kendrick and Diplo have sparked rumours about their relationship status.

The Pitch Perfect star tends to keep her love life out of the spotlight, though she sparked engagement rumours with cinematographer boyfriend Ben Richardson in August, when she strolled around New York with a ring on her finger. However the pair haven't been snapped since the summer, nor has the ring.

Diners at Craig's restaurant in LA claim to recently have seen Anna enjoying a meal with DJ Diplo, whose ex is popstar Katy Perry.

"Skrillex was there too, but he was definitely a third wheel," a source told America's OK! magazine, adding the pair looked "super flirty".

An insider close to Anna said while it may appear to be an odd pairing, the 30-year-old star actually has a penchant for men like Diplo, 37.

"She likes bad boys," the source smiled. "He's not a golden boy. Her parents would freak if they knew she was seeing him."

Diplo dated Fireworks singer Katy on and off in 2014 and appeared to get involved with her feud with pop rival Taylor Swift. After suggesting there should be a Kickstarter campaign to "get Taylor Swift a booty", the DJ quickly felt the wrath of her fans.

"It sucks for me, because now I have to not be as crazy as I am on the internet," he sighed to US GQ magazine. "Which totally sucks, because it's not going to be fun anymore. But the repercussions are really bad. Like, Taylor Swift fans are really crazy. They threatened to murder me and stuff. It's really bizarre, and disgusting. They're the worst people in the world."

Taylor's close pal Lorde also condemned his remarks, taking to her Twitter account to point out something should also be done about Diplo's "tiny penis".
