AnnaLynne McCord has opened up about the sexual assault she encountered at the hands of someone she knew.

The 90210 star recently hosted the Life Is Love event in Los Angeles, which benefitted the Somaly Mam Foundation - a non-profit organisation aiming to end human trafficking.

AnnaLynne shared her own experiences with the audience at the event.

"Has anyone ever been raped? Sexually abused? Not said 'no' when you felt you didn't have the right to? I know what it feels like," she said, according to US Weekly.

"I had a very similar experience to what these girls go through 20 times a night. It happened to me once by somebody that I knew, and it is a very interesting thing to feel that you do not have the voice to say 'no.' It wasn't an attack or anything like that - I just had no voice.

"I did not know how to say, 'I don't want this. Please do not do this to me.'"

AnnaLynne added that she wants to fight against something she didn't "deserve".

The 25-year-old has worked with the charity for a number of years, paying visits to victims in Cambodia.
