Anne Hathaway 'making life changes'

Anne Hathaway is trying to be more relatable, according to reports.

The Academy Award-winning actress has been on the receiving end of some harsh words from both the press and the public in the past.

But after taking a break from her career, the Les Misérables star is now scaling back her lifestyle to try and be more relatable.

"[Anne] is undergoing a transformation,” a source told Radar Online. “She’s learned the hard way how popular humility can be for an A-lister.”

The 31-year-old has been blasted by cyber critics known as 'Hathahaters' who have accused her of being affected. Anne was lambasted when she won her 2013 best supporting actress Oscar for Les Misérables and exclaimed, “It came true!” in her acceptance speech. As Radar previously reported, the actress hid from the spotlight in the aftermath. "My impression is that people needed a break from me,” she said.

Now Anne is making a big effort to change her life. "Anne has been giving away a lot of her possessions – such as clothes – mostly to her housekeepers, because she wants to live a less materialistic, decadent lifestyle,” said the source. "She definitely admits she’s been living too high on the hog given these economically tough times for the rest of the country."

Despite her determination to change people's perceptions of her, members of her team aren't sure it will work. "The big question hanging over everything right now is, will she sell her Los Angeles mansion and downgrade her digs?” the source continued. “Giving away some old clothes is not exactly downgrading her lifestyle!”
