Ant and Dec: We'll spend Xmas apart

Ant and Dec have revealed that they are so in tune they even bought each other the same Christmas present last year.

The TV presenting duo - real names Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly - are rarely seen apart, but they will take a break from each other over Christmas.

And their friendship means that when it comes to gifts, they are very much on the same wavelength.

Asked what they bought each other last year, Ant laughed: "We bought exactly the same thing.

"It was a console for your iPad to play games on. We both saw it in New York and it was surreal - we ended up getting the same present."

This year, the pair will be spending Christmas back up in Newcastle, their hometown, with their families.

Their relatives live near each other but the duo, who met over 20 years ago on the set of Byker Grove and now not only work together but also live on the same street in London, said they will not be hooking up over the festive period.

"We see enough of each other," said Dec, who plans to chill-out, eat turkey, drink wine and watch some classic Christmas films and TV.

"I always watch the Morecambe and Wise Christmas special," he said. "I often fall asleep during the big film though - that's the downside of over-eating!"
