Duo Ant and Dec scooped several awards at last night's TV Choice Awards.

The bubbly duo have been on the small screen since their stint on kids' drama Byker Grove beginning in 1989. Over two decades later they're arguably the most popular presenters on British television and last night proved that yet again.

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway took home best entertainment show, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! was named best reality show and Britain's Got Talent won best talent show.

Although the pair couldn't be there in person, Dec did share their thanks via their official Twitter page.

"Congrats to the winners of @TVChoice award tonight. Thank you to those who voted for @itvtakeaway and @BGT to win, much appreciated! D x

"Sorry we couldn't be at @TVChoice awards, we're away filming. Gutted we've missed it again this year :( always a great do! D x" he wrote to followers, before realising he'd missed one award off.

"OMG @imacelebrity won too! A clean sweep! Beyond thrilled! Thank u 2 all who voted and congrats to all who worked hard on them. D #tvcawards (sic)"

Other big winners at last night's ceremony included ITV drama Broadchurch, which won best drama series and best actor a third time for star David Tennant.

Sheridan Smith was also honoured for her portrayal of the late Cilla Black in a three-part series. Meanwhile Poldark was voted best new drama, Call The Midwife won best family drama and EastEnders won the prestigious best soap gong. Its star Davood Ghadami, who plays Kush Kazemi, was voted best soap newcomer too.

Rival soap Coronation Street didn't leave empty handed though as Alison King, known as the feisty Carla Connor, won best soap actress, while Emmerdale star Danny Miller won best soap actor for his role as Aaron Livesy.
