Attwater toasted in Albert Square

Sam Attwater's been congratulated by his EastEnders pals

Sam Attwater has revealed his former EastEnders co-stars celebrated his Dancing On Ice win with a knees-up in the Queen Vic.

The actor - who left the soap last September - said many of his ex-colleagues from the BBC show had been in touch to congratulate him on his success.

Sam said: "I had a really nice text from Shane Richie telling me everyone was in the Queen Vic and having a drink to toast and congratulate me on winning.

"I keep in touch with everyone but that was a nice thing and it meant a lot."

The 24-year-old, who played boxer Leon Small, also got calls from Cheryl Fergison (Heather) and Linda Henry (Shirley) after his ice-skating triumph.

And Sam - who's set to embark on the Dancing On Ice live tour from April 9 - didn't rule out a return to Albert Square.

"I had an amazing time and I loved working there and I loved everyone there and I do miss it and I miss everyone there.

"I've always been a fan and I always will be a fan, and to be part of something that you are a fan of was an absolute privilege."
