Avril Lavigne is planning a "rock 'n' roll" wedding full of surprises.
The singer recently announced her engagement to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. The rocker says his fiancée is brimming with ideas for the nuptials, but Chad isn't totally sure what she is planning.
"The wedding is Avril's baby. She has a great taste and a good eye for special details," he told German magazine In. "Avril would like to fulfil some of her dreams with the wedding and even I am not involved in all of the details. There will be lots of surprises for me, too. All I know is that it will be a very exciting party with a lot of rock 'n' roll elements."
Avril and Chad's engagement raised eyebrows when it was announced.
Although they had known each other for some time, they only began dating in July. Chad then proposed in August with a 14-carat diamond ring.
The 37-year-old singer was shocked by the initial response, but insists he doesn't care what people think about his relationship with Avril.
"The reaction totally hit us by surprise," he explained. "We thought we were well prepared for this, but we had to learn that we were obviously not that well prepared. We don't care what people say. What counts is that Avril and I are happy and we are."
