Baker: I won't quit Countryfile
Matt Baker hinted that he wants to present the One Show full time but said he will not quit Countryfile to take the high-profile job.
The former Blue Peter presenter, currently in training for the Strictly Come Dancing final, has shared presenting duties on the BBC's flagship magazine show with Chris Evans after Jason Manford quit over an internet sex scandal.
Matt said: "I've had a great relationship with them over the last year so it would be lovely."
But any presenting duties would have to leave room for his appearances in the ballroom contest's live tour, which begins in mid-January and continues for four weeks.
He said: "I've been so focused in the last few months that that is where all my attention has been, so I'm not sure and we will have to wait and see.
"Whatever happens I do want to keep going with Countryfile so I won't be finishing with that for sure."
Jason resigned from the One Show last month after admitting he "flirted" with around a dozen women and "went over the line with a few".
The comic, who lasted just four months in the coveted presenting role, got the job as a replacement for Adrian Chiles, who quit after signing a deal with ITV.
Adrian was later joined by co-host Christine Bleakley and the pair now front the ITV morning show Daybreak.
