Baldwin wants to be stay-at-home dad

Alec Baldwin says he dreams of being a stay-at-home dad when his new baby is born.

The 30 Rock star and his wife Hilaria announced earlier this week that they are expecting their first child together.

Speaking to Extra, where yoga teacher Hilaria also works as a lifestyle correspondent, Alec said he would love to be at home with the newborn now that the TV sitcom is over.

“My dream is to be home with the baby,” he said.

“Standing in the doorway, saying goodbye to mommy. Mommy is going to work now. Bye mommy, see ya when you come back!”

Alec and Hilaria revealed they are interested in knowing the baby’s gender, although it is currently still too early in the pregnancy.

Hilaria is also having some particularly fruity cravings.

“She was eating troughs of pineapple. I mean like tanker containers of pineapple,” laughed Alec.

“I didn’t eat pineapple before,” added Hilaria.

“It was bizarre. I really wanted pineapple.”

Although she is thought to be in her first trimester, Hilaria says she already has baby names picked out, with three options for a boy and one for a girl.

Alec, who has 17-year-old daughter Ireland from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger, also joked about having sympathy pregnancy cravings.

“My boobs hurt," he joked.

"My boobs are killing me, so sore. My jeans don’t fit. My pants, I can’t buckle them.”
