Ballet keeping Ben on his toes

Ben Cohen has been kept on his toes after he was sent to ballet lessons as part of this week's training for Strictly Come Dancing.

The former rugby star was being propped up at the barre, rather than the bar, as professional partner Kristina Rihanoff took him along to make him a little more nimble.

Kristina has previously voiced her concerns about how much weight training he has been doing, which him much too stiff and bulky for dancing.

Ben who was getting into shape for his waltz to What The World Needs Now did not have to look tutu silly during his ballet lesson - sticking to a t-shirt and sweatpants rather than tights and legwarmers.

He said: "The ballet was good. It told me a lot about my posture, I know I've got terrible posture - that is what this dance is all about posture and frame. So hopefully I'll remember all the little bits and bobs and can do it on the night.

And he hoped that former Royal Ballet principal dancer Darcey Bussell, who joined the judging panel, will notice an improvement.

Ben added: "The ballet lesson helped by giving me have a good stretch. It helped me get some poise for the waltz - I hope Darcey notices."
