Barrymore’s daughter ‘counts in Hebrew’
Drew Barrymore is elated her two-year-old daughter Olive is learning a second language so early on.
The 39-year-old actress-and-producer is mother to daughters Olive, two, and Frankie, nine months, with husband Will Kopelman.
Will is Jewish and their eldest Olive is picking up Hebrew early on.
“[She said] her first, ‘Oy vey.’ That made me happy, ” Drew smiled to People magazine.
“My daughter counted to three in Hebrew today. She was learning [Hebrew] this morning so I was proud of her.”
Drew is also impressed with how Olive treats her younger sister Frankie.
Although siblings feud often, it seems they are getting along pretty well.
“She’s really sweet,” Drew noted. “Whenever Frankie cries, she always goes, ‘Don’t worry, Frankie. It’s okay.’ That’s very sweet.”
But the sweetness sometimes degenerates into horseplay.
And Drew gets nervous when the babies play rough with each other.
“She’s a sister so she also tumbles her around way too hard,” she laughed. “I think every mom has the same experience with their kids.”
Drew has recently spoken about how much becoming a parent has altered her life.
Being a mother changed her perspective on everything, including how she approaches career.
“It’s amazing. It’s the driving force behind how I live my life,” she told People previously. “The acting has to be less and less because it’s too time-consuming. I love it and I don’t want to abandon it, but it can’t be at the forefront right now.”
Drew married art consultant Will in June 2012.
