Warner Brothers Pictures has cancelled appearances by the cast and makers of new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises in Mexico and Japan after a gunman killed 12 people and injured at least 50 others during a midnight premiere in the US.

The studio said actors Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon Levitt will no longer hold press or red carpet events at Mexico City's National Auditorium on Monday.

Premiere events in Paris were also cancelled on Friday following the massacre in Denver, Colorado.

The studio said it would continue with screenings for special guests and promotion winners so as not to disappoint fans.

It's time to put plans into action. Don't wait for anyone's permission. Just move forward as if you've been given the green light. Before long, others will recognise the merit of this idea and lend their support. It will be especially helpful to get the approval of an educational leader. Making resources more readily available to the public is a worthwhile mission. You especially enjoy seeing children benefit from your hard work. Thanks to you, they'll have better opportunities for advancement.More
