Singer Keith Semple and his wife have welcomed a new daughter into the world.

The Larne-born star's partner Lanette gave birth to a girl just after noon yesterday, and the delighted couple have named her Rozlyn Jayne.

The new arrival was a little early - she was expected in February - but weighed in at 5lbs 13oz.

Keith, who wowed audiences on The Voice USA last year, took to Facebook to show off photos of his newborn.

The baby is a little sister for his two-year-old daughter Rowan.

Keith is best known to UK audiences for boyband One True Voice, formed after he was a winner in 2002's Popstars: The Rivals. He recently said he was hoping 2016 will be the year everything happens in his bid for singing fame and fortune.

Despite impressing Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani, he didn't reach the final 12 on The Voice USA last November, getting the axe in a cull of half the contestants. He has been playing in his adopted home of Chicago for years with 7th Heaven - "the biggest band in the Midwest" - and now with his own band Semple.

Last night the pop star headed to the Renaissance North Shore Hotel Northbrook in Chicago to celebrate with pals.

Friends and fans took to Facebook to congratulate the couple.

Jean Haveron wrote: "What a lovely photo of a Mum - not all glam but with that look in her eyes that says, 'How clever am I? Nobody has ever done this before'."
