Becks wins sprint at school race

David Beckham was anything but an embarrassing dad at his son Cruz's sports day.

The football star won the dads' race - a 100 metre sprint - at the event, The Sun reported.

He was watched by wife Victoria, who ran in the mums' race but was beaten by her fashion designer friend and fellow parent Stella McCartney.

Becks won a gold medal, which he wore around his neck, while carrying daughter Harper, the newspaper said.

A parent was quoted saying of the Beckhams, who moved to Britain from LA as David announced he was retiring from football, said: "They were like just any other mum and dad.

"But Becks easily won the race. He beat the other dads by miles. He sprinted to the end in no time at all and left the other less fit dads way behind."
