Belfast Comedy Festival 2016 line-up announced
Get ready, because the Belfast Comedy Festival is back for a bigger laugh than ever before.
The festival announced the line-up for its fifth anniversary yesterday and the 12-day programme is packed with local and international talent.
Festival director Peter O'Neill said comedians would be coming from places as far away as Australia and New Zealand.
"It's a unique opportunity for local audiences to appreciate comedy that's not usually in the city," he said.
The festival is larger than ever this year, with 70 events and over 150 entertainers in 20 venues across the city from September 28 until October 9.
Australian funnyman Sam Simmons will deliver his hilarious routine on September 29, while local comedian Tim McGarry will be doing a stand-up act about Irish history - covering the building of the Titanic, the 1916 Easter Rising and the Battle of the Somme.
Northern Ireland will also be represented by comedians such as Sean Hegarty, Maria Connolly and Victoria Armstrong.
