Matt Bellamy has revealed the name of his newborn son with Kate Hudson - Bingham Hawn Bellamy, nicknamed Bing.
The Muse frontman made the announcement on his Twitter page, like footballer David Beckham with his new addition Harper Seven.
"So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy. Born 7Ib 12oz, on 9th July," he wrote.
Matt, who is engaged to Hollywood actress Kate, couldn't resist offering some detail about the birth.
"Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!" he added.
The 33-year-old musician gave an explanation for the name: "For those wondering, Bingham is my mum's maiden name and Bing Russell was (Kate's stepfather) Kurt's dad. Family connections all round!"
Bing - the couple's first child - joins big brother Ryder Russell, 7, from Kate's previous marriage to rocker Chris Robinson.
