Ben Stiller taught son important stripper lesson
Ben Stiller loves being "exposed to so much more" while living in New York.
The 49-year-old actor and his wife Christine Taylor currently reside in New York with their kids Ella, 12, and nine-year-old Quinlin.
Living in such a vibrant city means Ben rarely knows what's around the corner, which was definitely the case when his youngest was in the process of learning to read.
"Yeah we've been here for almost five years now. I love it here and the kids like it a lot. It's great 'cause you just get exposed to so much more here. You know, when my son was learning - he's almost ten - and he was learning to read right around the time we moved," the star recalled to talk show host David Letterman.
"So it's fun because you know when kids are starting to learn to read, they start to read everything they see. So you'd be in the back of a cab and you'd see your son is like 'Oh wait, dad look, Scores New York (a strip club in the Big Apple). Live... live nude dancers'. Then you have to have that awkward father son conversation where you explain that they can touch you but you can't touch them."
Ben has been keeping himself busy in recent weeks; earlier this month he jetted out to Paris to take part in Valentino's Fashion Week show. However, rather than walking as himself the funnyman reprised his Zoolander alter ego Derek Zoolander as he strutted down the runway. His co-star Owen Wilson joined him in character as Hansel.
"I was actually there," Ben recently joked when quizzed on Zoolander's appearance. "They are still ridiculously good looking."
The duo are currently working on a sequel to the 2001 original.
