Berry’s ex Aubry ‘happy’ she’s pregnant

Gabriel Aubry

Halle Berry’s ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry is reportedly “happy” at the news the actress is pregnant with her second child.

The French Canadian model is father to Halle’s five-year-old daughter Nahla.

The 46-year-old actress confirmed on Monday she is expecting her second child by her actor fiancé Olivier Martinez.

Although the former couple have a notoriously contentious history, replete with custody battles and battery allegations, apparently Gabriel is looking forward to Halle’s new arrival.

“Gabe knew that Halle had been trying to get pregnant for a very long time, and Nahla is very excited to become a big sister,” a source told Radar Online.

“Seeing Nahla happy is all that matters to Gabe.”

Gabriel and Halle have not had a smooth pathway into co-parenting after breaking up in April 2010 following a five-year relationship.

The 37-year-old model went to court in an effort to stop Halle moving to France with Nahla and Olivier.

Gabriel and the French actor then got into a fight outside the actress’s Los Angeles home last November and both had to be treated in hospital for their injuries.

However Halle and Gabriel are said to have now both come to an amicable custody arrangement.

“Gabe isn’t concerned that Halle will try and move to France with Nahla because she got shut down in the custody trial,” the source added. “The judge made it clear, Halle can move wherever she wants, but Nahla stays in Los Angeles where Gabe lives and has been raised.

“Gabe doesn’t think Halle will try it again, but would absolutely fight any attempt to move Nahla out of Southern California.”

Halle was widely reported to be expecting a boy with Olivier, but said on Monday she has no idea of the sex of her unborn baby.

The Cloud Atlas actress claimed the news had been “the biggest surprise of her life.”

“Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me,” she admitted on CNN. “So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”
