BGT would be fun, says Von Teese
Dita Von Teese has revealed Simon Cowell is a fan of her work and hinted she would be keen to appear alongside him on the judging panel of Britain's Got Talent.
The burlesque star said Simon had watched her perform in the past and admitted "it would be fun" to appear on the hit ITV1 show.
Speaking at the launch of her perfume in central London, Dita said: "He's seen my show, I think he's a great guy."
And when asked if she would consider joining Simon on the judging panel, she said: "I love being entertained. I think it would be fun."
Broadcasting regulator Ofcom received scores of complaints from viewers after 27-year-old burlesque dancer Beatrix Von Bourbon appeared on the latest series of Britain's Got Talent before the 9pm watershed.
Simon likened the contestant to Dita as she was sent through to the next round of the show.
Dita, who is credited with bringing burlesque to the mainstream, defended the dance style but admitted it may not be suitable for younger viewers.
The 39-year-old performer said: "When I started performing burlesque in the 1990s it was a much different fan base. It was a little more underground back then. There were a lot of fetish fans and a more male-based audience.
"There's been a definite shift. The audience now is predominately female with a lot of women finding their own sensual power.
Von Teese - once married to rock star Marilyn Manson - was in luxury fashion store Liberty in central London to launch her new self-named perfume.
