Justin Bieber was booed onstage after arriving two hours late for his performance in London’s O2 Arena Monday night.
The 19-year-old pop star was egregiously tardy to his first of four shows at the prestigious venue Monday night.
His largely teenage fan base populated the crowd and a number of outraged underage concertgoers and their parents were fuming about the tardiness. The youth were restricted by curfew and had to be home at a certain time to be up for school the next day.
Although he was supposed to begin his performance at 8:30pm, Justin instead decided to commence his show at 10:20pm.
"He's two hours late and Bieber is still not on stage,” a punter inside the O2 told British newspaper The Mirror.
“Kids are having to leave as it's so late. Not fair - bless them."
A number of people took to Twitter to voice their fury.
“I shall have an extremely moody daughter tomorrow .. Livid !!” former UK soap opera actress Wendi Peters wrote.
Deano10W tweeted: “Daughter and Nieces at O2 to see Justin Bieber - Still not on stage at 10.20 on a school night - That’s just taking the p**s !”
At 10:36pm an O2 spokesperson tweeted an apology, but didn’t provide a reason as to why he was late.
“Justin Bieber is now on stage and apologises for the lateness of his show,” the Twitter post read.
At 11:08pm, O2 issued an additional expression of regret.
"Sorry to all the Justin Bieber fans for the lateness of his show tonight,” the representative tweeted.
“The Tube will still be running when the show finishes."
Justin revealed in October last year, around the time his international Believe Tour kicked off, that he worked excessively to ensure that the performances are an incredible experience for fans.
"We've been working every night," Justin told ET Online.
"On the first tour I really wasn't much involved. This time I really wanted to be involved more, because if it's everyone else putting it together, it's someone else's show."
