Bieber: Philippines was life-changing

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber has urged fans to help the Philippines after seeing the "devastation first hand".

The Canadian singer finished off his Believe Tour by visiting the country which was hit by Typhoon Haiyan last month.

He's now called upon his Twitter followers to help the people affected by the natural disaster.

"Help and get involved. I saw the devastation first hand today. They need our help," he tweeted.

"Special show in the affected areas #pray4philippines. you've changed my life thank you

"Flew to the affected areas in the Philippines, please do what you can to help. #givebackphilippines

"That was the way to end a tour. We can all make a change and help. Please get involved. (sic)"

He also called the visit the "most touching trip" he's ever taken.

Justin, 19, also attached a picture of himself hugging a child during the visit.

While in Manila Justin also visited an evacuation centre and handed out toys, shirts and basketballs to kids.

Despite his recent charitable efforts, the teen star is often embroiled in controversies.

He spray painted the wall of a hotel while in Brazil and has also been snapped smoking what appears to be marijuana in the past.

The latest scandal comes after it was claimed Justin called a guest at an Australian hotel a "beached whale".

"What are you, Hawaiian or something?" he apparently asked her as she was sunbathing.

When she replied with no, Justin reportedly answered: "You look like a beached whale!

"You should go on [weight-loss reality show] The Biggest Loser!"

The alleged comments are said to have caused silence around the pool at the Perth hotel, with Justin's team reportedly appearing used to such behaviour.
