Justin Bieber reportedly “threw a massive hissy fit” with his mother Pattie Mallette in which his manager Scooter Braun had to intervene.

Pattie released her memoir Nothing But Up in September 2012.

Apparently the publisher desired for Justin’s face to appear on the cover to increase sales and the matriarch agreed to this without garnering his permission first.

When she finally told him, it is said that chaos ensued soon after.

“When Justin’s mom initially signed her book deal it included an agreement that Justin would appear on the cover with her, but she signed this deal without his consent,” a source told Radar Online.

“When things with her book finally started coming to fruition, she approached him about being on the cover and he threw a massive hissy fit. Justin felt like it was unfair to him.

“It was literally a screaming match in his dressing room and [Justin’s manager Scooter Braun] had to step in and tell them that it was not the appropriate time or place.”

It is said that Justin is simply no longer willing to allow his milieu to exploit his name for their own benefit.

Despite this, he was eventually able to come to an agreement with his mother.

“He finally broke down closer to the release of the book and agreed to do a press junket with her for the big outlets to promote it, but the whole thing was so awkward and uncomfortable,” the source recalled.

“Justin knows that Pattie has a completely unrealistic existence thanks to him. She was a part of the process, absolutely.

“But the little s**t does work his ass off.”

Justin’s week has been filled with controversy.

On Monday he arrived at his first in a series of four concerts at London’s O2 Arena two hours late, outraging his young fans and their parents.

On Thursday he collapsed backstage after suffering shortness of breath and was taken to hospital, although he has assured fans he is fine.

On Friday the singer reportedly lashed out at a photographer in an effort to hit him, while apparently yelling: "What the f**k you say? I'll f**king beat the f**k out of you."

His bodyguards stopped the blow from connecting.

Justin admits that the past few days have been incredibly difficult for him to deal with.

“Sometimes when people r shoving cameras in your face all day and yelling the worst thing possible at u… well I’m human. Rough week. (sic)” he wrote on Twitter.
