Blunt talking from Guardiola in Pep talk with Noel Gallagher
New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola risked re-igniting a bitter musical spat after revealing to Noel Gallagher that he is a fan of James Blunt.
The football manager was speaking about his new job to the former Oasis frontman, in an interview filmed by the club and aired on its website, when the conversation turned to music.
Gallagher said he had heard Guardiola, whom he calls El Senor, was a fan of Coldplay before the 45-year-old Spaniard said: "And James Blunt."
He went on to say: "I read an interview and I read you don't like too much this guy."
To which Gallagher replied: "It's not that I don't like him, El Senor, it's that I hate him, that's all it is."
Gallagher and Blunt previously traded barbs early last year when the High Flying Birds frontman said he did not write songs about his own life because they would be "more boring" than the You're Beautiful singer.
Blunt responded on Twitter by saying: "For once, I agree with him."
