Boyd: Lindsay relishing Spy role

Robert Lindsay has a glint in his eye when working on Spy, co-star Darren Boyd revealed

Robert Lindsay is "really relishing" his role in TV comedy Spy, his co-star has revealed.

The veteran actor plays an M15 boss in the Sky1 HD series, and leading man Darren Boyd - who plays a computer salesman accidentally recruited as a secret agent - said Robert was having a great time.

"He comes in on a daily basis with the enthusiasm and energy of someone who's new to things," Darren said.

"You can tell when someone's really relishing what they're doing and I think that really comes across, certainly when we're on set and working with him. He's got this fantastic glint in his eye."

Darren picked up the best male comedy performance at this year's TV Baftas for his portrayal of Tim.

"I've obviously become a lot more demanding and I take myself very seriously now. I have a huge rider," he joked.

"We're all very proud of the first series and we're all coming into this new one excited with the changes. And the scripts are great.

"We've got new cast and familiar cast and we've got a new director. So there's a lot of different things, and with that comes a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and something like that award - it's a lovely thing and I was very proud to stand up there."
