Boyle hits back at Ricky Gervais
Susan Boyle has hit back at Ricky Gervais for comments he made about her, saying he's "wasted" his talent.
The I Dreamed A Dream singer is thought to be worth £11 million after Britain's Got Talent made her a global superstar.
Last year Ricky triggered uproar when he referred to Susan as a "mong", slang for Down's syndrome sufferer, in his stand-up show Science, broadcast on Channel 5.
SuBo said: "I can take whatever Ricky says, because I'll tell you something - he's the one with the problem, not me.
"Ricky's a talented man but he's wasted himself with those comments. I think people who liked him are not so keen now."
The 50-year-old Scottish star admitted fame hasn't been easy for her. She said: "I've had a lot of insults. Do you know what I do? I ignore them. I just get on with my life. Those who have something to say usually have nothing to do."
But she insisted she is happy now she is at home with her friends around her.
Susan is set to guest star in I Dreamed A Dream, a new musical based on her life story. She revealed she will struggle not to cry during the performance, particularly in the scene when a doctor tells her parents Patrick and Bridget their new-born ninth child has been deprived of oxygen.
SuBo said: "Why do I cry at that? Because that's the reality. That's when the doctor tells my parents, 'Don't expect too much.' He prejudged me.
But my dad said, 'All that child needs is love - and we've got plenty of that.' It makes me cry just thinking about it, never mind seeing it on stage every night."
