Boyle reminisces about Christmas

Susan Boyle is hoping for world peace this Christmas.

The 52-year-old has enjoyed huge success since appearing on Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

She's a big fan of the festive season and likes to look back on some of her fondest moments.

"One of my earliest Christmas memories is coming downstairs at about 5am when I was about eight years old and discovering all the presents all laid out," she reminisced to British magazine OK!

"I opened one of them and it was a doll called Giggles - you pressed its tummy and it let out a rather loud giggle.

"This year, my wish is for people to get on well and for world peace - and for everybody to buy my charity single and for it to be Christmas number one!"

Susan has been feeling festive and is promoting album Home for Christmas and seasonal movie The Christmas Candle.

The star revealed how she will be enjoying the special holiday.

"This year I'm going to be spending Christmas with my friends and family and I'm doing the Christmas Santa Claus sail down the canal in my hometown on Christmas Eve," she smiled.

"Christmas is about giving and being with family and friends. It's magical and very special to me."

Susan plays Eleanor Hopewell in The Christmas Candle, which is a magical drama.

Les Misérables' Samantha Barks also stars in the film.
