Brad Pitt: Meeting Jolie was monumental

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt says meeting Angelina Jolie was "monumental".

The actor has looked back over his career in the movie industry and spoken about his most significant roles.

And while Mr. & Mrs. Smith might not be one of his most outstanding efforts, the star credited the movie with changing his life.

Brad and Angelina - who raise six children together - famously met on the set of the picture while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

"That [Mr. & Mrs. Smith] was a monumental change for more reasons than one. Six plus one, to be exact," Brad told British publication The Guardian. "I think that film has merit, too. It's really good fun."

Spanning a career of over 20 years, the Oscar-nominee is aware that his projects have matured over the years.

The 48-year-old joked he has improved his acting so his kids wouldn't laugh at him.

But he would like to add some weight to the way he is perceived in the industry.

"I think I've become one [a good actor]. [I had to in order] not to embarrass myself in front of my kids," he said. "I'm very sporadic, but I think I've got some skills now. What I'm lacking is the weight of some of the actors I like and maybe I'll focus on that. I'm so damn affable, it's disgusting."
