Bringing Summer Back! Justin Timberlake drops new single
Justin Timberlake enlisted the help of celebrity pals including Gwen Stefani and Anna Kendrick for the Can't Stop The Feeling video.
Justin Timberlake has proved he is well and truly back by dropping his new single Can't Stop The Feeling on Friday (06May16).
The pop superstar hasn't released any music since his 2013 album The 20/20 Experience, choosing to take some time off to enjoy life with his wife Jessica Biel their 12-month-old son Silas.
However, Justin delighted fans with a hugely catchy summer track, which features on the soundtrack of upcoming animated movie Trolls, when it hit the Internet at midnight on Friday.
He debuted the video for the song too, for which he enlisted the help of some of the stars of Trolls - including Gwen Stefani, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Kunal Nayyar and Ron Funches. Justin also voices a character in the animated film.
In the video, the celebrities are seen grooving to the track with Anna and Kunal in particular impressing with their dance moves.
Justin is seen wearing a patterned shirt and hat as he joins a group of people in the studio while listening and dancing to the track.
Reactions to the song have so far been overwhelmingly positive, with Entourage music supervisor Scott Vener tweeting: "its on some dance MJ (Michael Jackson) meets BILL WITHERS disco and u prob think I'm kidding but I'm not."
This isn't the first time a tune from the soundtrack of an animated film looks set to be the song of the summer - Pharrell Williams' 2013 smash hit Happy featured on the soundtrack of Despicable Me 2.
In fact, Justin has been working with his frequent collaborator Pharrell once again on some material for his upcoming album. The pair set the Internet alight earlier this year (16) when Justin shared a snap of himself back in a recording studio with Pharrell.
Next to a black and white shot of the pair, he simply wrote, "Currently..."
Super producer Pharrell, who worked with Justin on hits like Senorita and Like I Love You, offered a little more in an Instagram video, stating, "Here is today's PSA (public service announcement)", before turning the camera on his pal, who added, "There'll be Snapchapping, no Instabamming and no Swittering (sic)," hinting the music making duo is all about business.
Justin is also working with group Little Big Town on his new record, suggesting there might be a slight country feel to some of the tracks.
