The chart-topping star will play the Odyssey Arena on October 25 for her upcoming Femme Fatale tour. She is also scheduled to wow Dublin fans at the O2 the night before.

Announcing the dates today, the troubled singer, who bounced back after a well publicised breakdown in 2008, promised her Northern Ireland fans “an extraordinary show”.

The US star said she will be performing 21 of her smash hits which include Oops I Did It Again, Toxic and Hit Me Baby One More Time. “I can't wait to come back to the UK and perform for my fans there, it's been too long,” she said.

Spears has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide since her teenage debut in 1999. The Femme Fatale tour brings her to Belfast for a second time.
