Britney Spears has conservatorship hearing
Britney Spears has reportedly arrived to court and is meeting with a judge for a review of her father’s sole conservatorship of her estate.
The singer has remained under a conservatorship order since 2008 following a very public meltdown.
According to Radar Online, the 31-year-old was escorted into the judge’s chambers by sheriff’s deputies for a private meeting.
The hearing is not expected to be open to the public.
The outlet reports the judge is conducting a routine review.
“No changes are expected to be made,” according to Radar.
Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, is currently in control of the star’s assets under the terms of the conservatorship.
The order was put in place after Britney was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold and stripped of visitation rights for her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline, which she has since regained.
The star’s ex-fiancé, Jason Trawick, became co-conservator of Britney’s estate in April 2012.
The couple ended their engagement in January of this year and Jason was removed as co-conservator.
Jamie Spears is now solely responsible for the management of her daughter’s assets.
Britney is currently working on her eighth studio album after coming back to the music scene with 2008’s Circus, 2011’s Femme Fatale and with a judging role on The X Factor US last year.
She recently shared her excitement about the new project with her fans on Twitter.
"Really excited 2 give u a taste of my new album... can't wait 2 share what I've been working on. Going to be my most personal album ever :) (sic)," the star wrote.
A release date for the new project has not yet been announced.
