Brooke Shields talks virginity
Brooke Shields has opened up about losing her virginity to Dean Cain.
The actress lost her virginity at 22 to the actor, when they were both students, before he went on to become Clark Kent/Superman opposite Teri Hatcher in the TV series.
In her new memoir, There Was A Little Girl, Brooke writes: "He was incredibly and painfully patient with me regarding sex. I made him wait and wait and my mom kept track," the Daily Mirror reported.
Brooke said that she was "terrified of physical contact with boys" because of her possessive mother, Teri Shields, who died in 2012.
The actress wrote: "I was afraid I was leaving my mother. I didn't know where I began and where my mother ended and that meant I didn't know how to fit Dean in.
"I believe my mom wanted me to stay a virgin for as long as possible."
The mother-of-two, 49, has dated Hollywood stars Liam Neeson and John Travolta and was married to tennis champion Andre Agassi.
The actress, now married to Chris Henchy, also spoke of her close relationship with Michael Jackson, saying: "We loved each other. We just felt safe with each other. I didn't want anything from him. We watched movies and ate candy and laughed at the craziness around us."
