Brosnan loved working with Williams
Pierce Brosnan has paid tribute to his Mrs. Doubtfire co-star, the late Robin Williams.
The two stars teamed up for 1993 movie Mrs. Doubtfire, in which the late comedian played a man who disguised himself as a female housekeeper so he could spend time with his children following a divorce.
Robin, 63, passed away earlier this week, with his death an apparent suicide. Many stars have paid tribute to him, with Pierce recalling their time spent together on set.
"It is a deeply sad time for us all on the loss of Robin Williams. My first day on set, they said, 'Do you want to meet Robin?' I had never met the man, I was so excited. I was so thrilled to have this job in the company of this great star comedian," he told Us Weekly.
"I walked into the trailer and there was Robin in a pair of Ugg boots, hairy legs, shorts, Hawaiian shirt and hairy chest. That's how I met Robin Williams, and that's how I met Mrs. Doubtfire. And I had the time of my life. Every day was just sheer magic with the man. His hilarity, his grace, his brilliance of mind and soul. His reverence, sincerity. [It’s a] deep loss."
Following the news of Robin's death, his daughter Zelda released a statement admitting she was struggling to accept the loss. She explained that while she will "never, ever understand how he could be loved so deeply and not find it in his heart to stay", she and her family were finding some solace in the fact that he was loved by so many fans.
Pierce is also finding it hard to come to terms with what has happened.
"It really has cut deep into all our hearts that he is gone and that he suffered in such pain, and said, 'Enough, enough,'" he said. "He will be loved forever and missed forever."
