Bunton's heartbreak over lost pet
Emma Bunton has been left heartbroken after her missing dog was found dead.
The Spice Girl launched what is said to be the "biggest ever" search for a dog after she turned to her 892,700 Twitter followers for help in finding the six-year-old chocolate Labrador Phoebe.
But two days after Pheobe vanished during her daily walk on the common in the north London borough of Barnet, Emma's beloved pet was found dead on a railway track, The Daily Mail reports.
The 37-year-old singer tweeted: "To all the amazing people who supported us at this horrible time, our precious phoebe has been found and its terrible news, we are devastated."
Emma told listeners on her Heart FM breakfast show how Phoebe had run off while she was walking her on the common with her other dog JoJo and not come back.
"I'm desperate and so upset and worried sick. She's a big softie and I know she will be so scared," she had said.
The star and her partner Jade Jones - who gave her the dog as a birthday present - hired a pet detective, papered the local area with missing posters and enlisted the help of Animal Search UK , who combed the area.
But finally a member of the public alerted them to something they had seen on the nearby high speed rail line and the search came to a tragic end.
