Bynes ‘moving after eviction threat’
Amanda Bynes is reportedly moving out of her New York City apartment after her landlord threatened to evict her for being a nuisance and allegedly smoking marijuana in the hallways.
The 26-year-old actress is said to be at odds with the management at her Manhattan residence.
A source told TMZ Amanda received a letter from management earlier this month “explaining that her lease would be terminated”.
The insider said Amanda was considered to be a “building nuisance”.
The decision is said to have come after neighbours complained about marijuana smoke wafting from her apartment “morning, noon and night”.
The actress was also accused of smoking the drug in the hallways of the non-smoking building.
According to the website, Amanda has declined to challenge the management’s termination of lease notice and is simply moving out.
A large moving truck was seen outside the building on Friday.
Amanda has yet to comment on the report.
The former child star, who recently moved from Los Angeles to New York to pursue a career as a fashion designer, has had a rocky year.
She faced five criminal charges after a series of erratic driving incidents in 2012 – two counts of misdemeanour hit-and-run, driving under the influence and two counts of driving with a suspended licence. Prosecutors accused Amanda of leaving the scene of two accidents in Los Angeles, on April 10 and August 4, and she faced up two one year in jail for these indictments.
Radar Online reported she settled with the victims in the cases in December and the charges were dismissed.
Amanda still faces a driving under the influence charge stemming from her arrest days before the first alleged hit-and-run and two counts of driving with a suspended licence.
The actress brushed off the incidents in a September interview with People magazine.
“I am doing amazing,” she said, adding, “I am not talking about being arrested for DUI because I don’t drink, and I don’t drink and drive. It is all false.”
