Transgender icon Caitlyn Jenner enjoyed her first birthday since coming out as a woman.

Reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner considers her 66th birthday her first, as it's the first she's celebrated as a woman.

Caitlyn has had a mammoth year, which saw her reveal to the world that she was shedding her life as Bruce Jenner to transition into a woman. Many speculated the former Olympic athlete was making the change, but it wasn't until April 2015 that she addressed the rumours in an explosive interview with Diane Sawyer.

Celebrating her 66th birthday a day early on Tuesday night (27Oct15) at Logo TV's Beautiful As I Want To Be web series launch, the star admitted she feels like it's a fresh start.

"Technically it is my 'first' birthday, and I got to share it with a couple of my daughters today," Caitlyn beamed, reports America's People magazine. "We had a wonderful lunch. But, certainly, since coming out, this is my first birthday."

Caitlyn was joined by daughter Kylie and step-kids Kim and Kourtney Kardashian at Villa restaurant in California during the day. Kim showed off her pregnancy bump in a skin-tight pastel peach dress and matching coat, while Kylie donned a black wig with a blunt fringe.

"Early birthday lunch with @caitlynjenner Happy birthday dad what an amazing year for you," Kylie captioned an Instagram shot of the two of them.

For the evening's event, Caitlyn went for a black velvet calf-length dress, opting for a demure look. She was joined by Candis Cayne, her rumoured love interest, who transitioned to become a woman in the late '90s.

"I've been at this for 20 years, you know what I mean?" Candis commented. "And when I first started there was no conversation at all. We were a back-alley conversation, or a Jerry Springer conversation. (Caitlyn) has changed it in the fact that everyone in the world knows her name, and knows that she is transgender, and seeing the way that she has embraced that means a lot me."
