Cami Li had to lie to the Ex on the Beach producers to get on the show.

The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate dated the TOWIE star in 2013 and the pair were engaged for a brief period, before splitting that December. Things ended so badly for the pair that the 28-year-old wanted to make a show of her former flame on the MTV reality series, despite being in a new relationship.

“I didn’t do Ex on the Beach to find someone. I did it to get revenge,” she said, according to British newspaper the Daily Star. “At the end of the day I wanted revenge on Kirk and I always get what I want. Right now I’m still dating the same person I was dating when I was on Celebrity Big Brother at the start of the year. I had to lie to MTV execs about that.”

While Cami isn’t broadcasting her new romance as much as she has with previous boyfriends, she was happy to air her dirty laundry with Kirk in public. However she did worry that her relationship status would be rumbled by the show’s production team.

“I was a bit nervous they’d find out. I had to be careful on my social media,” she continued. “They know now and I think they didn’t mind. They were more bothered about the entertainment factor.”

The producers certainly got more than they bargained for, as soon after her arrival, 27-year-old Kirk was sent home when things turned nasty between the pair.

“He was threatening physical violence. They always had security around because of him,” she said. “He didn’t threaten me – if he had then I would be in jail now.”
